Active Window Sash
An active window sash-also known as the operable or primary sash-is the part of the window designed for regular, everyday use. Unlike the inactive sash, which remains stationary and serves mainly as a filler element, the active sash is intended to be opened and closed frequently.
A defining feature of the active sash is the presence of a handle that allows for easy and intuitive operation. Depending on the window model and functionality, the handle may support various opening modes-from simple side-swing to tilt-and-turn or full casement opening.
