Window Installation

Windows are installed into what is known as a rough opening-an opening left in the wall specifically for this purpose. While there are different types of installation methods, flat installation is most commonly used in modern residential construction. This means that the opening is flat, with no additional offsets or ledges.

The frame, which is anchored to the wall, can be mounted either from the interior or exterior of the building. It must be securely fastened to the surrounding structure, with at least two anchor points on each side.

It is essential to ensure that the frame is installed without deformation, as any distortion could transfer stress to the window unit itself. Therefore, it’s critical to work with high precision and to accurately measure the window dimensions before installation. Proper alignment and secure anchoring ensure the window performs well in terms of sealing, operation, and durability.
