At OKNOPLAST, we believe in the power of teamwork and making a positive impact in our community and beyond. Recently, six outstanding members of our team participated in the Wings for Life World Run, the largest running event in the world.
The Wings for Life World Run celebrated its 11th anniversary on May 5th, 2024, with a record-breaking number of participants, solidifying its status as the premier global running event. Organized by I Feel Slovenia, this unique race has a mission beyond the finish line. Every participant runs not just for themselves but also for those who can’t.
Joined by over 265,000 runners from across the globe, our team covered an impressive distance of 1,264,460.96 miles, all in support of spinal cord injury research. The race’s unique format involves a moving finish line, where the “Catcher Car” gradually speeds up, chasing down runners until they are caught. This innovative approach ensures that every participant, regardless of ability, can be part of the race.
This monumental effort resulted in raising an incredible €8.1 million towards finding a cure for spinal cord injury. 100% of the funds raised go directly to spinal cord research, bringing hope to millions affected by these injuries worldwide.
We’re incredibly proud of our team’s dedication and commitment to such a meaningful cause. Their participation wouldn’t have been possible without the support of OKNOPLAST, and for that, we’re grateful.
