Argon
Argon is the most common noble gas and is used in multi-pane glazing due to its very low thermal conductivity, making it ideal as a fill gas for thermal insulation. It is odorless, invisible to the human eye, and naturally makes up about 1% of the Earth’s atmosphere, posing no health risks under normal conditions. However, in concentrated form, it can be harmful to health. Argon is not considered hazardous in terms of explosion risk. In the past, it was also used as a shielding gas in light bulbs. Today, aside from its use in insulated glazing units, argon is also utilized in the photovoltaic and electronics industries, laboratories, the food sector, and as a shielding gas in welding.
